As an orphan called upon to take care of other orphans, how will we cope? Will tears help us to find the means to feed, clothe, send to school, care for and educate 54 children left in our care?

Our mother, Ma’a LOH, as we affectionately called her, taught us everything. She taught us everything, through words that transform and through action.

She prepared us to take over.

My name is Arnille Maria LOH. Ready to continue the good works of my parents, my brothers, and the team of 8 supervisors appointed me Coordinator of the St Arnille Marie Orphanage in Bonaberi-Minkwele.

I am now the mother of 54 children aged between 2 and 21.

Praise God: Love conquers all. But without each and every one of you, without the generosity and gifts of everyone, near and far, how am I going to proceed? Where do I start? With the exorbitant school fees? the purchase of books? the weight of three meals a day? or the medical bills?

On November 14, 2023, Mrs. Margaret LOH, the founder of the St. Arnille Marie orphanage, passed away. In addition to being the general coordinator of the center, she was the sole provider of resources for the orphanage’s operation. Her presence and reputation were sufficient, or at least impactful, with various donors. Consequently, her passing is a significant blow to the survival of the orphans on emotional, institutional, material, and financial fronts. Faced with the difficulty of continuing the immense social work

of this pioneer, it is urgent for us to seek diverse support to keep the torch burning.

Furthermore, the St. Arnille Marie orphanage in Douala         Bonaberi         will      celebrate    its        20th anniversary in 2024. It is, therefore, crucial for the center to    gather resources    to ensure          the sustainability of this publicly recognized endeavor since 2021 by the supervising Ministry. Finally, this expected support is essential to help the St. Arnille Marie Orphanage in setting up a complementary project capable of constituting an economic safety belt by generating its own income in order to promote the Center’s self-sufficiency and independence of operation.
